Care and cleaning tips
To ensure you enjoy your HABICO artist brush for a long time, we recommend careful care and gentle cleaning after each use.
1. Wash out colors properly
Watercolor and acrylic paints should never dry out. Therefore, always wash your brushes while they are still wet. For oil paints, it's best to first wipe the brush with a cloth before cleaning it.
3. Careful care of the kennel edge
Make sure to carefully rub the hairs along the ferrule to prevent any paint pigments from hardening. Dried paint can only be removed with special brush soaps or cleaners.
2. Thorough cleaning with water and castile soap
Afterwards, thoroughly clean the brushes with warm water and moisturizing castile soap until no color residue remains in the bristles. Natural bristles especially require this care, as they otherwise break easily.
4. Proper shaping and drying
After cleaning, gently reshape the brush with a soft cloth and allow it to dry at room temperature. The bristles take a very long time to dry completely, so we recommend not replacing the plastic cap.
By cleaning and caring for your HABICO brushes according to these instructions, you will extend the lifespan of your brush and thus the pleasure of working with a good tool.
